Intended for students who have no previous knowledge of the language. The unit is designed to provide a rapid survey of the Latin language sufficient to enable students to read selected passages of adapted Latin. It includes some historical and cultural background.

Weekly seminars (2 times = 3 hours per week)
Weekly tutorial (1 hour/1 time)

Video Grammar Module (20 mins/1 time)
Seminar Video Recordings (3 hours/4 times)
Web Conferences (4 x semester)


Reflective questions, 10%; vocabulary and paradigm quizzes, 15%; grammar and translation exercises, 35%; 2-hr exam, 40%.
