Introduction

Private Client Practice is an online unit that incorporates modules on criminal law practice, family law practice and wills and estates. Criminal law practice focuses on providing advice in criminal law matters, applying for bail, making pleas, and preparing cases for trial, and representing clients in minor contested matters. In family law practice you will learn about advising and acting in relation to parenting matters, property settlements, spouse maintenance and child support; identifying appropriate dispute resolution processes for such matters, in the light of the client's circumstances and concerns; and, advising clients on pre-action procedures. Wills and estates considers taking instructions, drafting, and advising on wills, obtaining grants of probate and letters of administration, and administering deceased estates.
