Note:

Compulsory core unit for students in new Law degrees, who commenced in 2013 or later, with course codes: 63I, 63J, 63K, 63L, 63M, 63N, 63O and 63P. Also degrees commencing 2014 63Q and 63R.

Introduction

Conveys to students the onerous legal and ethical responsibilities that are cast on lawyers by virtue of their position and role in society. The unit deals with the lawyer's duty to her or his clients, to the administration of justice, and to the community as a whole. It also addresses issues relating to professional discipline. Practical skills include legal problem solving and legal research.
