Introduction
This unit is based in the workplace and supports students to become investigators at the level of a Detective. Over a twelve-month period, students will collect evidence to demonstrate their attainment of each Intended Learning Outcome and associated criteria.

Learning Outcomes
- Resolve complex incidents through investigation
- Build and manage relationships with victims, informants, colleagues, and suspects during investigative and judicial processes
- Synthesise and summarise relevant information, and work collaboratively with the Department of Police Prosecutions (DPP), to develop court files to support a prosecution with admissible evidence
- Conduct interviews and interactions with a variety of witnesses and suspects in order to obtain relevant, accurate and complete accounts and information to support a range of investigations
- Evaluate and leverage opportunities to communicate and engage with organisations, the media, and the community to further investigations and/or maintain safety
