This course is delivered on a part-time and flexible basis, taking a minimum of 2 years to complete.
Paramedic practice is a rapidly expanding profession. The Bachelor of Paramedic Practice (Conversion) is a fully online program, designed to help currently practicing paramedics and advanced medics in the Australian Defence Force upgrade their existing qualifications.
This course is made up of a number of paramedic specific units and additional health care units.
Importantly, you will learn from experienced paramedics and expand on your existing knowledge in areas such as health, clinical assessment, clinical skills, pharmacology clinical research and professionalism.
Fully online, flexible and designed to let you study from anywhere while balancing your life and work commitments, the Bachelor of Paramedic Practice (Conversion) will help you stay ahead in a competitive field.
Course objectives
The Bachelor of Paramedic Practice (Conversion) is a two year part time program designed to allow practicing paramedics holding the Diploma of Paramedical Sciences (Ambulance) or the Advanced Diploma of Paramedical Sciences (Ambulance) (or equivalent) to upgrade their qualifications to a bachelor degree.
The course is offered through flexible delivery to Australian domestic students holding the above qualifications along with current employment in a Paramedic position with an ambulance service, or an advanced medic position within the Australian Defence Forces. The course consists of specialist paramedic units along with general health units delivered by the Faculty of Health – School of Medicine and School of Health Sciences.
Candidates must complete the requirements of the degree in a maximum of 5 years from the time of first enrolment. Extension to the time is at the discretion of the Dean.

For eligible students employed with one of our partner organisations, studies undertaken in the Bachelor of Paramedic Practice (Conversion) are subject to a 50% HECS scholarship.
