This on-campus course is offered at Launceston, Hobart, Rozelle and Darlinghurst on a full time or part time basis. The course length is a minimum of one year of full-time study and a maximum of two years part time.

The objectives of the Bachelor of Nursing with Honours are:

  • Develop an understanding of individual responses to nursing practice and how this impacts on research.
  • Develop the ability to critically and theoretically analyse a context or aspect of practice and apply this analysis to the research project.
  • Conduct a modest but rigorous research project that incorporates an appropriate research design and demonstrates critical engagement with the phenomenon of interest.
  • Contribute to a scholarly community through dialogue, debate and critique.

Career outcomes

Graduates of the Bachelor of Nursing with Honours may enter graduate/professional development programs in Australian healthcare systems. Graduates are prepared to undertake postgraduate research and activities; and gain preferential access to postgraduate courses.
