  • 1 Consolidate and synthesise specialised health informatics disciplinary knowledge and apply that knowledge within their healthcare professional area of practice
  • 2 Analyse complex healthcare problems and apply specialised technical skills to identify informatics-specific solutions
  • 3 Initiate, plan, implement and evaluate health informatics solutions, with independent judgement.
  • 4 Communicate health informatics theoretical concepts, knowledge and ideas to a range of audiences
  • 5 Critically reflect on ethical and security implications and consequences of health informatics

    Entry requirements

    Applicants who have recently completed secondary education (in the past two years) This course does not use ATAR and equivalent ranks as part of the admission process. Applicants with previous higher education study • Completed course at Bachelor level or above at any Australian higher education provider (or equivalent overseas qualification); OR • Partially completed a course at Graduate Certificate level or higher at any Australian higher education provider (or have partially completed an equivalent overseas qualification). Applicants must have completed the equivalent of at least two units of study (equivalent to 25 UTAS credit points). If an applicant has failed any units, the application may be subject to further review before an offer is made. Applications on the basis of work or life experience This course does accept applications based on work or life experience.

    Credit for appropriate studies completed from other university courses may be granted. Refer Rule 6: Part 3 Credit and Recognition of Prior Learning.
    The Graduate Certificate in Digital Health articulates directly with the Bachelor of eHealth (Health Informatics) Professional Honours and the Graduate Diploma of eHealth (Health Informatics), which in turn articulates with the Master in eHealth (Health Informatics).

    Options for this course

    This is a full-fee course, which means you’ll need to pay the full amount for your studies. Commonwealth Supported Places are not available in this course. However, there are still support options available for eligible students to help you manage the cost of studying this course.

    You may be able to fund all or part of your tuition fees by accessing a FEE-HELP loan from the Australian Government. FEE-HELP is a loan scheme that assists domestic full-fee students to pay for University, which is repaid through the Australian Tax System once you earn above a repayment threshold. This means you’ll only have to start repaying the loan once you start earning above a specific amount
