If you’re a health professional looking to further your work with clients affected by addictive disorders then this course can provide the knowledge, awareness and skills to do that.
Course objectives
The Graduate Certificate in Addiction studies has been designed to provide health professionals with the knowledge, awareness and skills to work sensitively with clients and families affected by addictive disorders and behaviours.
You’ll gain a deeper understanding of dependency, maladaptive behaviours and epidemiological indicators on a theoretical level. You’ll also develop your communication skills, so you can work sensitively with clients and families from a range of age groups, backgrounds and cultures.

Entry requirements
For Domestic students
Tertiary: FOR ELIGIBILITY TO BE ADMITTED TO THE COURSE: · AQF (or equivalent) undergraduate degree qualification, and be working in, or have interest in the area of Addiction. OR · Qualifications and experience deemed to be the equivalent to an undergraduate degree, and be employed in a field related to addiction disorders. Please refer questions of equivalence to the course coordinator. · A statement outlining area of work, and evidence of confirmation of employment. (Payslip or signed and dated statement confirming current employment status).
FOR ELIGIBLITY TO RECEIVE A HECS FEE SCHOLARSHIP Eligible applicants who are employed with, or members of, a partner organisation are eligible for a HECS fee scholarship. Confirmation of employment or membership is required on application.

Fees & scholarships
Domestic students
Cost shouldn’t get in the way of you studying.
If you’re a domestic student, you may be eligible for a Commonwealth Supported Place in this course. This means your fees will be subsidised by the Australian Government. You’ll only need to pay the student contribution amount for each unit you study within the course.
You may also be able to defer payment of the student contribution amount by accessing a HECS-HELP loan from the Government. If eligible, you’ll only have to pay your tuition fees once you start earning above a specific amount.
