Incorporating foundations of ethical practice, professional development and practicum experience, you will develop the skills needed to practice in a manner that enhances client safety, treatment outcomes, and develops a model of sustainable practice to support long-term engagement in the profession.
Through supervision, this training program will make you work force ready, providing much needed mental health support for the Tasmanian community, and beyond.
The Graduate Diploma of Professional Psychology Practice is a professional registration pathway, providing a rigorous study plan overseen by Psychology Board of Australia registered supervisors.

Entry requirements
For Domestic students
Applicants will have completed a fifth-year tertiary qualification in psychology accredited with the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (e.g. Master of Professional Psychology). All applicants will have current registration with the Psychology Board of Australia as a provisional psychologist (which requires you to meet all the requirements for registration).
Applicants with previous higher education study
Not applicable unless the primary admission requirements have been met
Applicants with previous VET / TAFE study
Not applicable
Applications on the basis of work or life experience
This course does not accept applications based on work or life experience.
Prerequisites
Completion of a fifth-year tertiary qualification in psychology accredited with the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (e.g. Master of Professional Psychology).
Current registration with the Psychology Board of Australia as a provisional psychologist (which requires you to meet all the requirements for registration).
SAFETY IN PRACTICE REQUIREMENTS
This course includes compulsory work placements. All students must meet the course’s Safety in Practice Requirements before their first placement. The safety in practice requirements are completed separately to the course admission application.

Fees & scholarships
Domestic students
Cost shouldn’t get in the way of you studying.
If you’re a domestic student, you may be eligible for a Commonwealth Supported Place in this course. This means your fees will be subsidised by the Australian Government. You’ll only need to pay the student contribution amount for each unit you study within the course.
You may also be able to defer payment of the student contribution amount by accessing a HECS-HELP loan from the Government. If eligible, you’ll only have to pay your tuition fees once you start earning above a specific amount.
