Complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) refers to a broad domain of healing resources that encompasses all health systems, modalities, and practices and their accompanying theories and beliefs, other than those intrinsic to the politically dominant health system of a particular society of culture in a given historical period. This course has been developed to assist health professionals in developing the evidence-based knowledge and skills required to meet the consumer demand for CAM products as well as satisfying their professional and ethical responsibilities. It is a fully online course, designed to be completed on a part-time basis. It consists of eight core subjects taught by the Division of Pharmacy, School of Medicine. Candidates may complete the requirements of the course in a minimum of four semesters (two years) and a maximum of five years, from the time of first enrolment.

Career outcomes

Graduates of the Bachelor of Medicines Management with Professional Honours in Complementary Medicines will be able to expand the scope of their health service delivery by integrating knowledge and skills related to evidence-based medicine and complementary medicine with their existing knowledge to enable them to confidently practise truly evidence-based integrative medicine.
