Hobart

Introduction

This unit will provide a critical examination of the state and complexity of the Australian health and social care system as it relates to older adults. You will become adept at accessing online and other resources to support aged care, as well as the spectrum of services that older adults and their networks can access. Through case studies, you will develop skills to interact with, guide and support people to engage with these services. There is a focus on realising authentic consumer directed care whilst empowering individuals to negotiate and understand the system. With such a focus the unit will introduce how to engage with older adults requiring quality care and support.
