Clinical Redesign Diagnostics and Analysis CAM509
Introduction
Students completing this unit will acquire advanced problem-solving and analytical skills for the ‘diagnosis’ of service delivery blockages, quality and safety issues, and system inefficiencies. The unit draws upon a solid theoretical and empirical basis, and introduces students to a range of best-practice clinical redesign models and tools for use within primary, secondary and tertiary health care contexts.
This unit is a prerequisite for CAM510 Clinical Redesign Solutions and Implementation. Students are expected to undertake a small clinical redesign project in their workplace or in a virtual environment as part of CAM509 and CAM510, with assessments tied to key project milestones. This (work integrated) learning approach provides students with the opportunity to improve patient care using evidence-based strategies while working towards an academic qualification.
