Introduction

This unit explores the nature of change within the broader environmental and organisational context. It will include exploration of current theories and research around issues relating to leading and managing change as well as diffusion of innovation. Strategies for successful implementation of change, including the identification of barriers to implementation are developed, particularly as they apply to health and human service settings. Participants are encouraged to examine the role of leadership in change management as well as exploring and analysing the intersection between the drivers of change, change readiness and service innovation diffusion.
