Acute Care Nursing Practice is a synthesis unit which builds on the knowledge and skills already developed in the BN program. This unit provides the opportunity for you to explore the care of individuals and families who experience acute, chronic, episodic or traumatic illness and require interventions in an acute care setting.
You will apply theoretical knowledge of the pathophysiology of disease, pharmacology, nursing therapeutics, assessment and management to developing your understanding of the patient's illness and how these theoretical understandings inform the approaches to care.
