Introduction

This unit is designed to prepare students for transition into professional practice as a newly graduated registered nurse. Clinical, shared and self-governance are addressed and students have the opportunity to integrate concepts of clinical supervision, preceptorship, collaboration, delegation, leadership and management. Exploration of the role of quality improvement methodologies in the delivery of nursing care and the tension between professional practice, advocacy and systems will be examined. Preparation for role transition including resilience building, workload management and preparation for future employment are explored.

Students will have the opportunity to develop their Professional Portfolio in this unit.
