Introduction
Students are introduced to what it means to be a developing Registered Nurse in contemporary nursing practice. This unit focusses attention on learning about the essential components of making the transition from 'beginning level competence' toward achieving 'proficiency' as a Registered Nurse. Career planning, and the introduction of a professional practice portfolio, is introduced to facilitate this process. Students will therefore employ critical analytical and reflective abilities to develop their strengths as developing Registered Nurses as they work towards building confidence in the development of their individual professional identities.
{This unit allows the new RNs to set learning goals, establish a professional portfolio which links directly to AHPRA requirements and develop a career plan that gets them thinking about specialisation etc.}
