Introduction
Unit CNA739 introduces students to psychological therapies used in mental health settings, either as stand‐alone interventions or in combination with pharmacological interventions.
Participants will be involved actively in a series of cognitive behaviour workshops either by synchronous online participation or via recordings. Students are encouraged to also actively engage with the discussion board on MyLO. The unit’s major focus addresses CBT principles, resources and practical skills in relation to managing anxiety disorders, depression and psychosis. The online workshops address and examine the application of CBT principles and strategies with adults, children and adolescents, with the primary focus on adults with a mental health problem/illness.
