Introduction
In this unit students will explore the care of acutely unwell children and their families. Students will extend their knowledge of the pathophysiology, pharmacokinetics and practices involved in caring for children with a range of medical, psychological and surgical conditions.

Learning Outcomes
- Describe the anatomy, physiology and integrated pathophysiology of acutely and chronically unwell infants, children and adolescents.
- Discuss the implementation of advanced clinical assessment and problem solving skills.
- Deliver advanced therapeutic interventions including interpretation of clinical investigations that support the management of acutely and chronically unwell infants, children and adolescents.
- Use evidence-based literature to analyse and evaluate the clinical management of acutely and chronically unwell infants, children and adolescents.
