Introduction
CSA726 is a self-directed, fully on-line unit, that explores a variety of disease states and their management, using a series of patient cases linked to assignment-based questions, to enable the student to enhance their knowledge in the area of clinical pharmacy and pharmaceutical care. The unit covers the medication management and clinical pharmacy issues in psychiatric and neurological disorders.

Learning Outcomes
- Identify and evaluate problems associated with psychiatric and neurological medications using an evidence-based approach
- Critically evaluate psychiatric and neurological medication therapy using an evidence-based approach and accepted best clinical practice to devise and justify appropriate courses of action for therapeutic management.
- Employ evidence-based and contemporary clinical skills to conduct a clinical audit and demonstrate how this may influence pharmacy practice in the management of psychiatric and neurological diseases.
- Demonstrate effective written and oral presentation skills to explain contemporary issues associated with psychiatric and neurological medication therapy.

| Recommended | It is highly recommended that you study topics relevant to your unit from standard clinical pharmacy texts such as Pharmacotherapy by Joseph T DiPiro 11th Edition OR Applied Therapeutics by Koda-Kimble 11th Edition. There is a wide range of textbooks available online that can be accessed through the UTAS library. We assume that Pharmacists undertaking the course will have a general knowledge of most of the therapeutic areas covered, as well as have the necessary skills to interpret laboratory and patient data.
