Counselling Fundamentals KHA335

Advanced level unit in Behavioural Science major

This 13-week blended unit provides third year students with an overview of counselling concepts and skills. Students will be introduced to theories of counselling and basic communication skills. Multicultural counselling and an awareness of some of the ethical and professional issues facing counsellors will be addressed. This unit will provide students with knowledge and skills that are applicable to a number of workplace settings. Completion of this unit does not qualify students to practice counselling, however, it provides a foundation for further study in this area.
