Introduction
This unit offers a systematic approach to understanding psychological symptoms and psychopathology. Theoretical models of psychopathology, as well as psychological assessment and evidence-based interventions will be explored. Particular emphasis is given to cognitive-behavioural and counselling interventions. Additionally, this unit is designed to provide students with foundational skills and knowledge relevant to pre-professional training. Students will develop practical skills and knowledge to a foundational level of competence in relation to psychological assessment, interview skills and professional psychological practice.
