Professional Psychology Placement 2 PSY721
Introduction
This placement will involve engaging in professional psychology practice. This placement will promote a scientist-practitioner model of the professional psychologist with opportunities to develop competencies and increased independence in psychological assessment and intervention with common psychological presentations across the lifespan. Students will be expected to consider psychological theory and research in the selection and application of assessment and intervention, and to tailor this to individual client presentations.

Learning Outcomes
- Apply, under supervision, the scientist practitioner model of practice to select, administer, score, and interpret a range of psychometric tests and questionnaires to clients and provide feedback to clients and referrers as appropriate and commensurate with Stage 2 competencies as measured by the CYPRS
- Apply, under supervision, and tailor knowledge of psychology and counselling skills to the development and delivery of tailored psychological assessments/interventions commensurate with Stage 2 competencies as measured by the CYPRS
- Appraise, under supervision, ethical challenges in psychological practice and apply ethical decision making models to navigate ethical issues as they arise with clients commensurate with Stage 2 competencies as measured by the CYPRS
- Apply, under supervision, reflective practice skills to critically appraise psychology practice with clients and integrate feedback from supervision to engage in continual improvement of clinical skills commensurate with Stage 2 competencies as measured by the CYPRS
