Introduction
This unit of study aims to provide you with practical engineering experience in an environment outside the University and improve your awareness of the issues associated with professional practice. In so doing, it will ensure your perceptions of engineering during your studies develop alongside the realities of practice.

Learning Outcomes
- Produce a job application package responding to an advertised engineering position description containing selection criteria.
- Evidence pre-employment and networking skills in order to apply for a work placement with an engineering enterprise.
- Compare and contrast the operation of engineering companies by engaging with professional engineers.
- Extrapolate the importance of interpersonal skills in the workplace by critically reflecting on personal past experiences.
