Introduction
This unit develops students’ conceptual knowledge of fluid mechanics and their ability to solve complex problems in fluid mechanics. The governing equations in integral form are explored and applied to a range of practical problems including boundary layers, pipe flows, pump-machine systems, open channel flows, hydraulic jumps, pumps, and turbines. Hands-on learning is used to reinforce key concepts and develop written communication skills.
