In this unit, students will explore a case study involving automation of an industrial process using Industry 4.0 technologies. Students will explore the economic benefits of using internet of things (IoT) devices for automation and process control as well as condition and reliability monitoring.

- Assess the economic feasibility of implementing an automated manufacturing process.
- Investigate an application of condition monitoring and reliability in process control
- Assess an existing application of robotics in industrial automation.
- Program an IoT device to perform a specific task.
