Advanced Power Network Operations and Protection ENG760

Introduction

This unit introduces students to the monitoring and assessment needs of emerging power systems including exploring climate resilient infrastructure and designing protection systems for power systems with a high penetration of distributed renewable generation. Students will be able to describe present and future network visibility needs in distributed networks, analyse impacts of distributed energy resources in distribution networks and design advanced distribution management systems.
