Courses & Units
Maritime Dynamics and Waves JEE254
Introduction
This unit aims to introduce students to the fundamental knowledge and tools required for the analysis of oscillating systems within the maritime engineering field. Students will be required to perform calculations enabling them to model systems such as ocean waves using differential equations, vector calculus and spectral analysis techniques. Students will apply these skills in the design of experiments to investigate engineering problems at both model and full scale. This unit prepares students for analysing a wide range of maritime engineering problems including structural motions, vibration and heat and fluid transfer.
