Introduction
This unit provides students with understanding of aquatic animal health issues, relevant to aquaculture and wild fisheries. Disease diagnosis, biosecurity in aquaculture, disease control and treatment are discussed. Host, environment and pathogen relationships are examined. A wide range of exotic and endemic diseases, including parasitic conditions are reviewed. The unit covers immune response of aquatic animals. Problem-solving exercises provide case histories for a variety of species.
