Introduction

The unit aims to familiarise you with the complex logistical requirements resulting from eCommerce. The unit concentrates on the emerging business practices, tools and technologies that enable order fulfilment in the rapidly evolving eCommerce space. The unit examines how the functions of material handling and transportation provide crucial e-commerce business value through supply chain collaboration. Throughout the unit, the emphasis is on logistics strategies, operations and infrastructure to meet the growing challenge of customer satisfaction in eCommerce related distribution activities.
