Introduction

On completion of this unit, the student will have the knowledge and skills to undertake critical operations as master on a commercial vessel limited by tonnage and achieve a satisfactory standard in the safe and commercially efficient execution of a voyage and manage the vessels stability and planned maintenance systems in compliance with national and international standards to maintain the vessel in a safe and seaworthy condition.

This unit meets the relevant learning outcomes set out in Table A -II/1and A-II/2 of STCW 2010 (Manila Amendments) and detailed in the Maritime Training Package MAR50415
