Note:

Introduction

This unit comprises a semester long research project. The aim of the unit is to provide students with research experience in an area of maritime operations of their own choosing. The unit will develop skills in research project design, data collection, analysis and presentation and in the effective communication of research findings. Students are encouraged to speak to the course coordinator before selecting a topic for research. The unit will involve an average of 6 hours per week planning and completing an individual research project which will be closely supervised by a lecturer in the National Centre for Ports and Shipping. Students do not need to have well developed ideas before beginning discussions.
