Introduction
Human Factors is a multi-disciplinary applied science that integrates the fields of psychology, engineering, ergonomics, management and industrial design. Human Factors pivots around the processes of effective system design, and deals with areas such as personnel selection; personnel training; machine design; job design; and, environmental design. This unit provides an introduction to the range of issues covered in human factors and supports the development of some basic skills used by human factors professionals to study occupational environments.
