This unit is a 3 day short course and may be delivered multiple times in each semester. In order to complete 6.25% load it should be combined with enrolment or credit in the following units: JVD224 Maritime Environmental Awareness 2.5%
Introduction
This unit provides students with the knowledge, skills and understanding of leadership and teamwork appropriate to the operational level on board a ship [as specified in STCW table-II/1, Function: Controlling the operation of the ship and care for persons on board at the operational level].
The unit aligns with the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) model course Leadership and Teamwork and the Australian Training Package module MARG5001A Provide Leadership to a Crew.
