Introduction
This unit provides the students with the knowledge and skills to plan, manage, and carry out electrical maintenance and repair work involving, generators, motors and switch gear and related marine electrical equipment on commercial vessels. The work involves planning maintenance schedules, trouble shooting, measurements, disassembly, replacements, reassembly, and commissioning of above mentioned equipment in line with safety and statutory requirements.
This unit meet the requirements for knowledge, understanding and proficiency set out by the Maritime Training Package MAR, the STCW 2010 (Manila Amendments) and Table A-III/1 and AIII/2 of the STCW code.
