Electrical and Electronics Maintenance and Repair JVE143
Introduction
This unit provides the students with the knowledge and skills to plan, manage, and carry out ¿¿electrical maintenance and repair work involving generators, motors, switchgear and ¿¿related marine electrical equipment on commercial vessels. The work involves planning ¿¿maintenance schedules, troubleshooting, measurements, disassembly, replacements, ¿¿reassembly, and commissioning of the above-mentioned equipment in line with safety and ¿¿statutory requirements.¿ This unit meets the requirements for knowledge, understanding, and proficiency set out by ¿the current Maritime Training Package, the STCW 2010 (Manila Amendments), Table A-III/1 of the STCW Code, and relevant AMSA Marine Orders.
