This unit aims to introduce students to the professional practice of engineering (including ongoing learning, ethics and safety) and develops skills in technical writing, engineering drawings, engineering design process, and project management techniques. Students will apply this knowledge to work individually and in teams to produce a solution to a real world problem. This unit is the foundation for advanced units in engineering analysis and design in the subsequent years. It will help students build their skill-set towards being a competent engineer with skills in both open-ended problems and solution focused outcomes.
