Introduction

Architecture Choice Units offer students a chance to select units from a range of options that suit their personal interests and professional aspirations. All units express key aspects of our program …

A&D WIL provides you with the opportunity to undertake an immersive study experience in a professional context. The University offers a range of internship opportunities in architecture and design practices and related areas in the building industry and government. Additional WIL opportunities in a variety of professional contexts may be offered within specialist areas including digital fabrication and object design, timber and wood products, environmental sustainability, social inclusion, health and wellbeing and heritage conservation. All placements are competitively selected based on alignment of your interests, skills and availability with those of the practice or organisation.

During the work integrated learning placement, you will actively participate in, observe and gain an understanding of the placement’s processes in conducting professional and business operations. At the end of the WIL unit you will submit a reflective journal documenting and critically reflecting on the activities undertaken and evaluating the learning experience in relation to your personal strengths and future professional development needs and aspirations.

Work integrated learning opportunities may be offered on a part-time (one day per week) basis during semester, or more intensively over 3-4 weeks in summer, winter or spring semesters.
