Learning by Making A KDA381

This unit is subject to a quota.

Architecture Choice Units offer students a chance to select units from a range of options that suit their personal interests and professional aspirations. All units express key aspects of our program.

Learning by Making projects focus on the collaborative design, fabrication, assembly and installation of an object or space, often located in a public space. The projects are 'live' and students will usually experience direct engagement with stakeholders, including clients, engineers and local authorities. Students will use model making at a variety of scales to fully develop ideas before progressing to full-scale fabrication. Construction technologies will vary from project to project and may involve either traditional construction or digital fabrication. Workplace Heath and Safety will be an integral part of the learning in this unit.
