Introduction
This unit provides an introduction to legal, administrative, social and scientific aspects of environmental impact assessment, environmental auditing, environmental management systems and related environmental management tools. The unit emphasises the practical aspects of environmental management for Tasmanian, Australian and international contexts. The unit is intended for students who are interested in or plan to work in environmental management or a related field.

Learning Outcomes
- Describe the main EIA pathways, legislation, and actors in Tasmania.
- Create realistic recommendations using environmental knowledge and EIA process to make recommendations about environmental outcomes.
- Evaluate the social-political context of environmental impact assessment to advise on stakeholder management and possible environmental outcomes.
- Design a module of content by working as a group and project managing to present a case study to the third-year cohort.
