Interested Launceston students please talk to the unit coordinator.

This unit is designed for students who have an interest in learning about challenges in the development, implementation and evaluation of technology infrastructures, applications and services to support health. The unit is also designed for students considering pursuing a research higher degree in the eHealth domain. This unit will provide students with understanding and knowledge of current and emerging trends in eHealth as they impact on the delivery of healthcare at individual, organisational and system levels. Drawing on insights from national and international cases, students will be exposed to a range of eHealth systems and gain knowledge about the socio-technical challenges, impacts and opportunities associated with these systems. In particular the unit will explore approaches to the design, deployment and evaluation of eHealth on patients, health professionals and the system as a whole. The unit is also designed to develop research and communication skills tailored to the conduct of eHealth research.
