ICT R&D Project KIT510
Introduction
This unit will provide students opportunities to conduct a research and development project. Students will develop an understanding of the scientific research method, practical research skills, and practical design and development skills in a research environment. Students will work on a research project with an identified supervisor. The students will develop their critical analysis and problem-solving skills, experience the research environment and obtain feedback from a supervisor on their performance.
Students are expected to prepare a research proposal or plan, conduct research and data analysis. The focus of such projects will be on adding knowledge to the research topic addressed, either through providing new insights into the problem, proposal of a novel approach or algorithm, or the development of an artifact necessary for the advancement of the research in the area with the student having a significant level of participation in conducting a research.
