Introduction
This unit extends a student's understanding of the development of applications on mobile ready platforms. To enable a richer experience in understanding the development process the unit will focus on one mobile platform. Emphasis is placed on the processes, tools and frameworks required to develop applications for current mobile devices. Students will work at all stages of the software development life cycle from the pitch through to implementation and evaluation. Students will be required to consider the impact of usability, interface design, and user centeredness in order to develop elegant applications that suit the requirements of users and industry.

Learning Outcomes
- Evaluate the components used in building mobile ready solutions, how they interrelate, and justify their use in the design, development and evaluation of mobile ready platforms.
- Collaborate and interact with stakeholders during the pitch, design, development, and evaluation of mobile and ubiquitous applications.
- Create interfaces that are intuitive, visually appealing, user centred, and that are attuned to emerging demands of mobile ready platforms.
- Develop elegant mobile applications that demonstrate best practice in mobile and ubiquitous computing contexts.
