Part of the MBA (Professional) Agricultural Innovation and available to Master of Applied Science students.
Introduction
This unit aims to provide the theoretical perspectives and methodological skills for students to be able to investigate, improve or develop collaborative innovation (co-innovation) in agrifood value chains in Developed and Transitional Economies. It will provide an understanding of value chains as systems that create value for consumers and how that value is shared amongst members of the chain. A range of methods and tools will enable students to identify the facilitators and inhibitors of co-innovation as well as analyse and improve product flows, communication and marketing information flows and boundary-spanning relationships. The unit will employ experiential and problem-centered approaches that facilitate development of the student's practical research and intervention skills through assignments, case studies and a major project investigating a value chain.
