Introduction
The Master of Applied Science, Thesis (50% loading) is the final semester in the Master of Applied Science course in the following specialisations, with each specialisation requiring enrolment in two unit codes of 25% loading:

Candidates are required to undertake an independent supervised program of research under the supervision of a qualified staff member or external co-supervisor with expertise in their field of interest. The duration of the research project is expected to coincide with Semesters 1 or 2 and is inclusive of the study week and some of the examination period (i.e. 16 weeks).

Learning Outcomes
- identify the important points of a topic of interest to the scientific community through a complete but discriminating accession of the literature.

- analyse and interpret results and to report scientific data, using an appropriate range of techniques.
- discuss results and draw conclusions from a scientific investigation in relation to relevant biological principles and published work.
- communicate research ideas and outcomes to academic and industry audiences in a concise and cogent manner.
