KMA152 & KMA154 are requisite first year units for majors in Mathematics, Physics & Engineering and are prerequisites for many second year units.
Introduction
KMA154 is a continuation of KMA152, with emphasis on the application of single-variable calculus to problems in the mathematical, physical, and biological sciences; economics; and engineering.
Topics include: introductory linear and matrix algebra; solving systems of linear equations using Gaussian elimination and matrix techniques, including eigenvectors and eigenvalues; techniques of integration, applications of integration, and numerical integration; first order ordinary differential equations (ODEs), systems of linear, first order ODEs, and constant coefficient, linear, second order ODES; convergence of infinite sequences and series (including power, Taylor, and Binomial series); and parametric equations and polar coordinates.

Note
Please check that your computer meets the minimum System Requirements if you are attending via Distance/Off-Campus.
Units are offered in attending mode unless otherwise indicated (that is attendance is required at the campus identified). A unit identified as offered by distance, that is there is no requirement for attendance, is identified with a nominal enrolment campus. A unit offered to both attending students and by distance from the same campus is identified as having both modes of study.
Special approval is required for enrolment into TNE Program units.
TNE Program units special approval requirements.
* The Final WW Date is the final date from which you can withdraw from the unit without academic penalty, however you will still incur a financial liability (see withdrawal dates explained for more information).
