Biological Research KPZ778

Hobart

Introduction

Involves a semester-long research project, supervised by a member of the School of Biological Sciences staff. It will involve approximately 80 contact hours planning, conducting, analysing and reporting on an individual research topic negotiated between the student and the supervising academic. The aim of the unit is to give students experience in individual research in an area of their own choosing. Students are required to speak to the unit coordinator and individual members of staff before the start of semester to organise a suitable research project. Students can expect that staff will have some suggestions for projects, so that they do not need to have well developed ideas before beginning discussions. Conditional on the agreement of the supervisor, students can undertake this unit in any semester, but it must be completed within that semester.
