Satisfactory completion of the laboratory component is an essential requirement for students to pass this unit.
This unit explores the chemistry of skeletal muscles - bonding and interactions that allow muscles to work, and nutrient cycles - carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus - reactions and their conditions. Through these themes, this unit covers introductory chemistry for students with no previous knowledge of chemistry who intend to study science, particularly the biological sciences.
This unit can either be undertaken fully on campus with fortnightly laboratory sessions or off-campus – (online) with a lab workshop at the end of semester. Tutorials, on campus or online, are compulsory and attendance is monitored. It is a requirement that the student indicate their preference at the start of semester.
