Introduction

This unit is a literature review that supports a student subsequently doing a research project. The student will use the scientific literature to write a review that includes: relevant background on the research topic; good coverage of important literature and key concepts; a critical analysis of current research in the field and potential future research directions. The student will demonstrate their capacity to synthesise a sound understanding of the relevant literature by writing clearly and concisely in an academic manner.
