Birds and Mammals of the Southern Ocean KSM302
Introduction
This unit provides a comprehensive account of the biology of birds and mammals that inhabit the Southern Ocean (loosely defined here as waters from Southern Australia to Antarctica), and the role that they play in the marine ecosystem. Topics covered in the unit include taxonomy, physiology, ecology, conservation and management, with an emphasis on integrating these issues within a broader ecological framework.
