- Describe the factors that influence the design and operation of fishing gear and methods
- Critically appraise the factors that influence the design and layout of fishing vessels
- Measure and model the size and species selectivity of fishing gears and methods
- Recommend mitigation measures to minimise the impacts of fishing on the marine environment
- Prepare a cruise report of experimental work conducted at-sea
